Paul R. Dehmel , Senior Counsel
With more than 20 years of experience in litigation, Paul has second-chair trial and first-chair arbitration experience serving as a lead counsel in state and federal courts. Paul has successfully overseen and managed numerous complex commercial litigations from beginning to the end. Paul is an experienced appellate practitioner. He has also assisted with the resolution of cases through alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, such as arbitration and mediation.

Over the course of his career, Paul has represented clients in various business disputes including defending a majority member of an LLC against claims by the minority member alleging fraud, misrepresentation and corporate usurpation, and defended a purchaser of a large area of commercial real estate brought by the seller alleging fraud and misrepresentation, prosecuting and defending numerous breaches of non-compete clauses.

Paul has defended investigations and FINRA inquires, as well as investigated and assisted with the defense of white-collar criminal proceedings against senior corporate executives, and defended a major petroleum distributor from claims that a nearby explosion was caused by escaped product. Also, Paul has successfully briefed and argued dispositive motions that have brought a prompt resolution to numerous disputes in Federal and State courts.

Prior to joining Kaufman & Company, Paul’s previous practice was at several different law firms in New York and Connecticut, including Paul Hastings and several AmLaw 200 and boutique law firms.

Paul has:
